其一是提撥60％作為「日常開支」，用於每日生活開銷，包括個人及家庭的食衣住行育樂、勞健保費、稅金等各項生活花費。如果有剩餘款項建議先作為家庭緊急預備金，等到累積到一定的金額後，可以考慮存起來或是作為投資的資金。
其二是提撥30％作為「投資理財」，最重要的是要超前部署，愈早積極做好理財規劃，好讓自己的退休生活得以高枕無憂。存錢要有效率，投資理財也是同理，這樣才能更快地累積財富，這個前提是需要花時間先做「功課」，就像巴菲特給散戶的忠告：「不熟不做、不懂不買。」
其三是提撥10％作為「風險管理」，最後這一部分資金主要用來做風險的轉嫁，避免意外來臨時造成金錢上的負擔！連同前面兩個帳戶，善加運用「年收入分配6、3、1比例」，創造人生「財務風險免疫力」！
資產配置631原則，領固定薪水的小資上班族，可將每月月薪其中的10％用作個人退休風險規劃、30％提撥到儲蓄或是投資的帳戶中，另外絕大多數的60％則主要作為日常生活開銷，這當中也涵蓋了子女就學費用及奉養父母的孝親費等。
